The origins of David Holliday Engineering Ltd go back to 1972 when Brian Holliday (Brother) established Holliday precision engineering.

Brian had worked exclusively in tool making for Hot Brass Stamping and Injection Die Industries. He began, working alone, to make precision components from a small wooden lean-to shed in Wolverhampton. The business flourished with the help of component orders for the developing North Sea Oil Rigs. By the late 70's the customer base had expanded and Holliday Precision Engineering moved to a new premises in Brierley Hill, West Midlands.

David joined the business in 1987 with experience gained in Toolmaking, Product Design and Hardware manufacture and by now the customer base included Cadbury, Smiths Airospace, Lloyds, Reynolds Ring. Legg Brothers, AJT Testing, J Legge and Co.

An introduction to the Fastening Industry was established in 1992 and by 1994 larger premises of over 3000 sq ft were secured near the Merry Hill Centre, West Midlands. David Holliday Engineering Ltd was incorporated.

In subsequent years sons Martin, Jamie, Samuel and Joshua have all played their part in creating a true family business that can give personal attention to all orders from enquiry to delivery.

This year (2007) David Holliday welcomes a Partnership with Les Melvin (Bsc Ieng MIIE). who is a fully qualified Mechanical Design Engineer and a Manufacturing Process Engineer.

Les has spent the last 15 years at the quality end of the Fastener Industry with experience in the design of Cold Forming Dies, Lean Manufacturing Methods including the Toyota Production System, TPM, Kaizan, JIT and Kanban delivery systems, Installation of pneumatic control systems (Telemechanique Logic). Castings in Iron and Steel, Zinc Die Casting, Presswork and Metal Finishing.
